Attention Submitting Agencies:

Effective July 1, 2011 the UNT Center for Human Identification will require that samples submitted for DNA testing and entry into CODIS must be entered into NamUs (National Missing and Unidentified Persons Systems).  This was a stipulation set forth by NIJ who has provided the funding for this testing. We are asking that each agency, please enter all relevant information into NamUs prior to submission of samples.  Please contact George Adams at 817-735-5451 or B.J. How do Agencies Obtain Sample Collection Kits?

To obtain sample collection kits the agencies will need to contact the office of the Evidence Custodian.

All submissions and returns must be coordinated with the UNTCHI evidence custodian.

All submitted paperwork (included in collection kit) must be complete before processing samples can begin.

Samples can be delivered directly to the laboratory or may be sent via Fed Ex, UPS, or USPS. The submitting agency will incur the cost of shipping of Unidentified Human Remain (UHR) samples. A return air bill must be included so that UHRs can be returned to the submitting agency.

FAMILY REFERENCE COLLECTION KITS ARE PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE!!!

TESTING OF FRS, DRS, AND UHR SAMPLES IS FREE OF CHARGE!!!
